Steve Jobs & iSteve Biography: Amazon Taking Pre-Orders Now

Today is a huge day for Apple, the giant tech company, as Apple’s WWDC 2011 begins with Steve Jobs due to make the keynote speech later on and many people waiting to see what new Apple innovations we will hear about over the next week. It’s also a big day for Steve Jobs on a personal level as Amazon has now begun taking pre-orders for Jobs’ authorized biography, iSteve.

Back in April we told how Jobs was planning a biography, to be written by Walter Isaacson with full co-operation from Jobs himself. The book will be titled “iSteve: The Book of Jobs” and published by Simon & Schuster. We now have the first details of a release date of March 6, 2012 although this is not a firm date as yet.

According to Josh Ong of Apple Insider the Amazon price is listed at $19.80 for the hardcover, that’s 34% off list price, or the Kindle edition is $14.99 and even though the release date is not yet confirmed Amazon is giving a pre-order price guarantee. When we just looked at Amazon though, the price is now showing as $16.50 for the hardcover so it’s going down. Apple’s iBooks is also taking pre-orders at $14.99. The cover image and book’s description is also available although the cover image could well be changed before release. The description notes read, “iSteve is the definitive portrait of the greatest innovator of his generation.”

Michael Grothaus over on TUAW also reports on the Steve Jobs biography and notes it has 448 pages and that even though it is many months until the release the book is already ranked at number 28 in Amazon’s top 100 books.
