New Motorola Droid Bionic Images at Last: Redesigned Chassis

We’ve been keeping readers up-to-date with all the latest news and speculation about the Motorola Droid Bionic smartphone for as long as we can remember. We know just how many of you are waiting for this Android handset and after the release was delayed it has been a bit of a saga waiting to see if and when the Droid Bionic would ever be launched. We have news today though that the new and improved Droid Bionic has been spotted and have some images that show what looks to be redesigned chassis, although it’s not too different to the original Droid Bionic that we knew and loved.

To recap and get you up to speed, the Bionic was delayed for enhancements and there were also reports that it may be replaced by the Motorola Targa. Recently though we told how a Motorola website page briefly leaked some upcoming products including the Targa but there was no sign of a Motorola Droid Bionic. We thought at first that the Targa may then be a completely different phone but then only yesterday we asked the question, where is the Motorola Droid Bionic? We wondered once more if the Targa was the new Bionic, although we had previously heard news of the Droid Bionic being tested.

We have news today though of leaked images of what appears to be the new Droid Bionic after all, which we think will please an awful lot of people who were still keen to get their hands on this 4G handset on Verizon. We’ve had a lot of comments to our previous stories about the Droid Bionic and know that many of you were still hoping to see it arrive and it seems you may be right not to have given up on the handset. The leaked images come to us from Mobile Gearz and show what appears to be a new form factor for the Droid Bionic with an 8-megapixel camera, 1080p HD video capture and also featuring the new Moto Blur. We’ve shown a couple of images here or you can see more at the Mobile Gearz link.

What’s really captured our imagination though is what appears to be the addition of webtop connectivity and a dock, similar to the system for the Motorola Atrix 4G. Over on Android Central, Alex Dobie has also looked at the leaked images and reminds us that Motorola had previously spoken of bringing out more phones with laptop docks so this looks promising. We’d like to know what you think of the images and if you are still waiting for the Motorola Droid Bionic? Let us know with your comments.
