HTC ChaCha Upped Processor Speed, Now Tempted?

The mobile phone list continues to grow and one newcomer is that of HTC’s ChaCha running on Android’s Gingerbread 2.3 operating system, with let’s not forget that all important Facebook sharing button. As well as refreshing you on its specifications, we can today give you news about the phone’s new faster running speed.

For those waiting for this phone, will know that it releases today (June 6th) and instead of the 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor being included, a new speedier 800MHz has been positioned, therefore giving a difference of 200MHz or in percentage terms a 33% improvement.

Some may argue that it really will not make much difference and of course its not a dual-core, like its neighbour the Sensation or Samsung’s Galaxy S2, but hey if the ChaCha ticks the boxes for you, then who are we to argue.

In terms of other specs, you can expect to find a 2.6-inch HVGA display, Qwerty keyboard, 512MB of RAM and ROM, 5MP rear camera and VGA front camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, 1250mAh battery and so on.

If we take a look at its price, according to Slashgear, the HTC ChaCha will retail in Europe at £210 with an equivalent at $339 for an unlocked model, this will no doubt vary from retailer to retailer. ITProportal.com has reported a suggested price for the ChaCha at £250 SIM Free.
