Sony PSN YoYos Today Due To Maintenance: Back Up Tomorrow

When it comes to the Sony PSN it has been in shambles for the last 5-6 weeks and at the moment it’s going up and down in many locations. Sony has promised that the PlayStation Store and a few other features will be up by the end of the week so we are all wishing the week away to grab our free goodies from the revamped Sony Store.

What we are reporting today is that whilst the services are coming back this week there are a few things in terms of maintenance that they have to do which will impact your gaming today. In other words the Sony PSN is YoYoing today due to the maintenance which should help calm your fears that it had been hacked again, it should be be back up tomorrow.

There’s an update from Sony VP of Network Entertainment Eric Lempel over on the PlayStation blog where he mentions that users will be unable to sign in to the PSN however those that are signed in already will remain online.

No real timeframes have been handed out by Sony for this downtime although if they are going to live up to their promise then we should all be up and running by the end of the week. It’s good that Sony is posting their progress but it would be good to have a little bit more information about what they are doing. With Sony trying desperately hard to rebuild their tarnished reputation we feel that a slightly more transparent view point would do well.

What do you guys think about this? Has the PSN gone down again for you? Let us know in the comments section below.
