Motorola Leaks Xoom 2, Targa & More Androids: Images Removed

Now here’s an intriguing snippet to whet your appetite today, with what seems to be a Motorola leak that was rather quickly covered up. It seems that the Motorola Mobility website briefly showed a page containing images of upcoming Android products including the Xoom 2 tablet, the Targa smartphone and others, screenshots of which were published on another website and then removed at Motorola’s request.

The story began with a report from Evan Blass over on Pocketnow about a Motorola site redesign leaking the new products. Apart from the Xoom 2 the Motorola Targa popped up, a smartphone that we’ve previously heard of as maybe a codename for the Motorola Droid Bionic, and which is an LTE handset for Verizon’s 4G LTE network. It looks as though this could now be an entirely different smartphone altogether though but nothing is yet clear on that. There were also a couple of slim phones called appropriately, the Slimline and Zaha, and another phone, the Pearl. On top of this there was an image of a watchphone referred to as the Tracy XL.

However following Pocketnow’s report, the screenshot images can no longer be seen on the site and an update states that Motorola Mobility Inc., asked for the photos to be removed. However at this time of writing you can still see the photos over on Engadget where an article by Thomas Ricker refers to this incident.

We’re going to err on the side of caution and not post the photos here but for now at least you can still view them at the Engadget link above, and it’s certainly worth a look. What are your thoughts on this Motorola leak? Let us know with your comments.
