Twitter Follow Button Added: Subscribe With One Click

In the last day or so we’ve brought as much Twitter news as always, with its inclusion in a tech bubble infographic, a study which showed that the Twitter saturation point is around 150 friends, and also earlier today news that Twitter is to launch a photo sharing service. Now we have news of another new initiative from Twitter as the giant social networking site is launching a Follow button whereby people can subscribe to a feed with a single click.

It works in the same way as the Facebook Like button that is now so prevalent on the Web and users will be able to choose to Follow on Twitter too with a quick click of the button. The Follow button is an option to anybody who wants to add one to their website, according to Stuart Miles over on Pocket-Lint, sourced from Twitter.

Users simply need to go to Twitter, give details such as user name and whether they want their amount of followers to be shown and then add three lines of code to their website, to get their own Follow button. The Twitter blog post said, “Today we’re excited to launch the Follow Button, a new way to discover and instantly follow Twitter accounts directly from the websites you visit everyday.” It certainly seems to be a quick and simple enough process to set up your own Follow Button for Twitter and we can only wonder why it took Twitter a while to get round to it.
