Apple iPhone 4S & iPhone 5 Clarification & Release Dates

When it comes to the next iPhone there have been a number of rumors flying around and some of them will be true whilst others are absolute tosh. So what do you believe? To be quite honest Apple is pretty impressive at keeping things under wraps but with WWDC just around the corner there’s a slight expectancy for a little surprise.

Last year Steve Jobs walked out on stage with the Apple iPhone 4 and proudly showed it off but this year Apple has made it pretty clear that they want this year’s event to be all about the software, but don’t be surprised if Mr.Jobs does walk out with the next iPhone. There’s a lot of confusion at the moment around the iPhone 4S & the iPhone 5 so we thought we should give as much clarification as possible but remember this is our opinions based on the rumors that we have heard over the last little while as well as the expected release dates.

If we are to see a device at WWDC then it will be an iPhone 4S or iPhone 4GS which will be an upgraded version of the current Apple iPhone 4 kind of like what they did with the 3GS. If that’s the case then when the rumors of no NFC on the next iPhone sounds about right, why would they spend so much money on a handset that will be superseded soon after.

Over at iClarified there’s an entry talking about both the iPhone 4S and the iPhone 5 and some of the likely details. The fact that “the next iPhone” will be a lot like the current iPhone 4 in terms of appearance is making us lean towards the iPhone 4S being released around the end of July or maybe August with some minor specification changes. DigiTimes say that this device may include the 8 megapixel camera with the new design on the back that we have perhaps seen some leaked photos of.

As for the iPhone 5 we are expecting some changes in terms of design and specifications with perhaps an further improvement to the expected 8 megapixel camera of the iPhone 4S, maybe NFC, at least dual core processing, a Thunderbolt connection and maybe a few surprises that we are becoming a custom to from Apple’s creativity in the market. One of the big changes that would do Apple well is to try and make a single device that will go across both AT&T and Verizon’s networks.

Let’s face it; they have to do something to combat the popularity and the rise of Android to claw back some of that market share. Nobody really knows what Apple is up to but hopefully we will find out more. Have a read of this translated link and see what you think.
