T-Mobile G2X Problems To Be Fixed By Gingerbread Update

The smartphone market is doing very well at the moment with new models being released such as the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the subject device of this article the T-Mobile G2X made by LG. We previously reported that people were having a few problems with the device with freezing occurring.

Following that people were finding it difficult to get hold of the phone they were after and it was also unavailable on the T-Mobile website prompting people to say it had been pulled from everywhere possibly because of the buggy OS Android 2.2. Now we have heard that the T-Mobile G2X problems will be fixed by a Google Android Gingerbread update.

We learned of this through an article over on Phandroid.com by Kevin Krause where he says that it has now been confirmed that Android Gingerbread 2.3 will be hitting the handset this summer. There’s also an interesting article over on tmonews.com by David who is their managing editor, he has found a message on Twitter from T-Mobile USA saying that “T-Mobile plans to update the G2x to Gingerbread by summer.” You can see it on this link or on the image below.

This is certainly a step in the right direction as the handset has the makings of being brilliant with some high specs and it has been intelligently priced. If Gingerbread comes in and fixes the problems then brilliant but it will be a disaster if it doesn’t. I guess we will have to wait and see!

What do you think of the handset so far? Have you experienced the freezing on it? Let us know in the comments section below.
