iPhone 5 Near Launch: Ad Casting Actors, Appears Than Goes

For some time now, speculation as to when the new iPhone 5/4S will arrive and what specs it will include have remained a big mystery. Here at OSM we have brought you news as it comes in regarding possible features it may and may not have, asked what price you would be willing to pay, what carriers will feature the new handset and so on. We know many of you are happy to wait for its arrival even if means patiently waiting for it.

But is its launch nearer than we think. Just yesterday our very own Debbie spoke about journalists being invited to the forthcoming WWDC event in June, so is this indication that Apple are about to announce something? Who knows, but today an interesting article over at ITproportal.com via CraigsList has reported on a “iPhone 5 Commercial” that has been spotted. Well we say a commercial, but its actually a posting looking for five actors/actresses willing to take part in the ad.

The casting call which was seen and then removed, was asking for people who would take part in a “Happy, Smiling” iPhone commercial, either male or female, all ages and ethnicity and so on. Along with this, the ad would be shot in LA, America and the lucky handful would be paid in UK pounds. As we mentioned, the listing was removed just two hours after it had been seen, which of course brings into question the possibility that Apple are trying their best to hide the new product.

At this present time and no doubt for weeks to come, it will still be unclear as to whether the commercial was indeed the real deal or fake? But to give you an idea of what the posting said, we have included it above for your perusal courtesy of MacRumors.

Let us know what you think about the so-called commercial? Is it Apple’s sneaky way of keeping our interest going with the next gen iPhone?
