HTC Tablet 10-inch Puccini: Summer Release Still On

Tablet PCs have become one of the most sought after devices for many people following Apple’s release of the iPad into the dead market. As always many other manufacturers followed suit and released their own tablets and the market has now become extremely competitive.

So much so that HTC who primarily make smartphones such as the EVO 3D and the HTC Sensation are now entering their own tablet PC into the market. We have heard this before where Debbie Turner of OSM reported that June is the target release date for the HTC tablet with a 10-inch screen known as the Puccini and now we are hearing that the summer release is still on.

With specs being leaked here and there the Puccini certainly looks like a force to be reckoned with although pricing details are yet to be learned. Engadget’s Thomas Ricker has reported that the LTE capable tablet looks to be still set to be mass produced in June which is great news for anyone looking for potentially what could be the next big thing. Confirmation of proceedings looks to have come from digitimes.com who has gained the information from sources within the supply chain.

With specifications such as the MSM8660 dual-core processor that runs at 1.5GHz and Google Android Honeycomb 3.0.1 this device certainly looks to be the bee’s knees. If HTC price this little bad boy lower than the likes of the Apple iPad 2 then they could be in for a nice juicy slice of market pie.

What do you think of the HTC Puccini so far? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

Why does it have to be cheaper than the iPad II? HTC are proving themselves to be a high end, quality product. I would personally like them to market it at the same price, that way, it is not perceived to be a cheaper alternative, which HTC certainly is not.
