Evo 2 Console: Android Gaming on your TV

With E3 being the focus for many gamers and console manufacturers it’s no surprise that some of the competitors will want to cut in on the action. We already know that there will be a new Nintendo static console making an appearance at E3 following the release of the Nintendo 3DS and we have also heard rumors of a new Microsoft console.

Now we have read over on Engadget that there’s a console called the Evo 2 which looks to bring Android gaming to your TV. With smartphones becoming an essential part of our lives that also help us pass time with their game apps it seems like a natural progression that they are brought to the big screen.

Personally I thought that there would be some way to link your smartphone to your TV and then use your phone as a controller and that may still happen but the Evo 2 looks like it will be here first. The console runs on the Google Android 2.2 OS and has a 1.2GHz Samsung processor that hasn’t been named. From the above image you can see that the controller for the device bears a strong resemblance to those on the market already with two control sticks, four buttons on the right, a D-Pad and the button in the middle.

You can head over to the Envizionsinc official website to pre-order your console now for the fee of $15. The SDK unit for Android developers will set you back $149 and the press release that is on Engadget says that the price of the console is planned to be £249.
