Limited Edition Black Ops/PS3 Bundle: Buy Now Or Wait For MW3?

Sony has recently had quite a bit of a rough patch with the unexpected outage that hit the PSN where hackers managed to infiltrate the network and steal the user data. Since then we have seen Sony talking about the “welcome back package” that is due any day soon as well as the new PSP Remaster that will see PSP titles crossing to the PS3 platform and vice versa.

Now we have heard of something new that Sony is going to offer, it’s a limited edition Black Ops/PS3 bundle and we want to know if you will buy this now or wait for MW3. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 was announced recently and also had its new trailer released that we instantly reported on through Matt Tran.

The latest bundle is a great catalyst for anyone wanting a Sony PS3 as it is priced nationwide at $299 as informed by Ami Sheth who is the Associate Marketing Manager for the PS3 on the PlayStation blog. This stupendous offer will be available from May 31st which is less than a week away.

In the package you get the slim PlayStation 3 with 160GB of storage for all your games, films and anything else you want on there, a copy of Call of Duty Black Ops and they have even thrown in the First Strike content pack with no additional cost. Of course the new DLC features the new zombie experience that we reported a viral video on previously which is a major deal sweetener wouldn’t you say?

    Wait for MW3, Black Ops is a joke on the PS3. I try and try to like it, even after 5 prestiges (playing simply for the fact I bought the Hardened Edition and feel I HAVE to play it for the money spent) but, the truth remains it just does not run smoothly at all and it hurts the PS3 with every minute played.

    The COD franchise is known for ignoring the PS3 community, so they go and create a bundle? It's pretty insulting of you ask me.

    I really hope MW3 will allow us to save to the PS3's HDD, and give us good matchmaking/lag free games (unlike BlOps). It's wishful thinking I know, but going back to MW2 there is a HUGE difference between how the games play. MW2 is by far the best currently in terms of play quality.

    If you don’t have a PS3, this is definitely worth getting. You’re getting essentially a $60 game + $15 DLC for free. MW3 PS3 bundles won’t be out for a while if at all (as MW2 PS3 Bundles never hit shelves).

    Bottom line: if you’re in the market for a PS3 and enjoy FPS’s. I would highly recommend picking this bundle up so that you can be ready for when MW3 is released.

    P.S. I remember even picking up my copy of MW2 on release date for like $40. I wouldn’t be surprised if MW3 is available for a similar price on release date ($40-45 is my best estimate).
