HTC EVO 3D Only on Sprint? Could Head to AT&T and T-Mobile

We’ve been writing about the HTC EVO 3D for some time and feel this is a pretty impressive handset. Due to come to Sprint next month there may have been many of you disappointed that it wasn’t coming to your choice of carrier, but news today suggests that in fact the HTC EVO 3D could also come to AT&T and T-Mobile.

Yesterday we wrote about the EVO 3D and also the HTC Sensation being credible alternatives to the Apple iPhone 5 and we also gave details of a leaked price so click on the links for more. As a recap we’ll tell you that the specs for the EVO 3D include a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, features HTC Sense UI and has a 4.3-inch qHD display. There’s also a 5-megapixel rear camera and 1.3-megapixel front-facer with capability of 2D or 3D photos and video recording. The HTC EVO 3D runs on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS.

News that the EVO 3D may be coming to more carriers came to us from Jacob Palmer over on GizmoCrunch, sourced from Pocketnow, who tells of a possible GSM variant to the CDMA version for Sprint. An eagle-eyed observer noticed a slight difference in press shot photos of the EVO 3D and then it was noted that HTC briefly posted specs for a GSM variant of the phone on its website, which were later removed. The 3D press shots showed a different back on the EVO 3D and you can see other changes in the above image, courtesy of Pocketnow, such as accent color differences, an HTC Sense logo, an alteration in the position of the power button and expanded text between the camera lenses.

Meanwhile you can see a video of the HTC EVO 3D in an article about rumors of a Vodafone release in the U.K. over on Recombu. It’s possible that a GSM variant is only coming for the overseas market but it certainly looks as though it’s also possible for AT&T and T-Mobile to get at some point in the future. Are you pleased that the EVO 3D may be coming to other U.S. carriers? Let us know with your comments.

I highly doubt that HTC will release the HTC EVO 3D on any other carriers, as I’m sure Sprint made it exclusive to them.

It is being released outside of Sprint… It will be released to overseas carriers in Europe and probably Australia.. No other US carrier will have rights to ANY phones in the HTC Evo line, as Sprint and HTC have contractual agreements. Do some research prior to publishing this nonsense.
