HTC Holiday vs Sensation vs Galaxy S2 vs G2x: Dual-Core Victor?

Competition for smartphone supremacy still rages on, but include a dual-core processor into the equation and the tables then begin to turn. In recent weeks, here at OSM we have spoken about a handful of phones that have or are due to be released including this very addition. As well as listing specs of the new Samsung Galaxy S2, HTC Sensation, LG G2X, there is now a new addition to add to the pack, that of the HTC Holiday.

Before we refresh you on each of the handsets’ specs and tell you about those all important dual-core processors, we will give you a little background on the holiday. As with many devices, the name may change as did the HTC Sensation from the Pyramid. According to fonehome.co.uk, the Holiday‘s leaked information comes from 911Sniper, a Chinese site that has made a name for itself in sourcing HTC leaks.

If we look at what the phone includes, we can tell you that the slightly bigger 4.5-incher (beating off the other 3) will incorporate 1GB RAM, 8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front, running on Android’s latest 2.3.4 Gingerbread OS and lastly a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor. At this present time, an official US release date has not been confirmed but suggestion is pointing to a date in the not so distant future, along with rumor of it running on the faster 4G network.

Staying with the Qualcomm chip for one moment, we can tell you that this will match that of the HTC Sensation, in fact it shares many similarities. In terms of camera, the Sensation again will come with a 8MP rear, Android OS along with the same qHD resolution, although screen size is somewhat different with the Sensation packing a smaller 4.3-inch.

Moving onto the Samsung Galaxy S2 which has stirred up quite a lot of attention already. Equalling that of the Sensation with display size, the Galaxy S2 will include a Super AMOLED Plus display, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front, Android 2.3 Gingerbread and 1.2GHz dual-core matching the two above.

Last but not least we finish up with the LG G2X. Packing a slightly smaller 4-inch touchscreen making it the smallest of the four, we can tell you that it will include a 8MP camera, Android 2.2 Froyo although news has suggested that this may change to the 2.3 Gingerbread, again 1.2GHz dual-core processor and so on.

Before we leave you with some food for thought, we wanted to let you know about an article we posted earlier on today, where we looked at the Galaxy S2 and the possible enhancements that may be coming to the Motorola Droid Bionic, yet another biggie rumored to make an appearance late summer/September.

Let us know where you stand with the phones listed above? Is there one that is ticking the boxes for you despite the four sharing many features such as the big rear camera, dual-core processor, similar screen display and so on.

g2x has a 1ghz dual core tegra 2 processor, not a 1.2ghz. Just to let you know. First lol!

I have the G2X and love ti over any samsung or HTC. I wish it had ginger 2.3.4 but there is always something missing. I like the larger screens but feel the 4 inch fits well in a pocket. It also feels solid.
