Over the last few months here at OSM we have brought you news on a whole wide range of new gadgets, these include the HTC Puccini Tablet PC, Samsung Exhibit 4G and the Dell Streak Pro 10”, the one thing that all these devices have in common is there Android operating system.

This great operating system has the potential to turn any device into a best seller, with a big fan base backing it up there is no telling what the future holds for Android. If you’re a fan of Google’s OS and feel like trying something different then check out their Android Set Top Box, this device will allow you to experience Android 2.2 via your TV in the comfort of your living room.

This device is very similar to Apple TV but according to Ubergizmo it is very different to Google TV, this box will allow users to access Android 2.2 Froyo by hooking up their TV via an HDMI cable. Within its pure white casing this box packs some pretty great specs like 2GB of internal storage, 512MB of RAM, SD memory card slot that lets you increase storage by up to 32GB and a USB port for connecting an external hard drive.

All this will all be powered by a very reasonable Amlogic 1GHZ Coretex A9 CPU, packing Wi-Fi capabilities this box will allow you to connect to a whole host of services such as the Android Market, Internet TV, IM and of course the Internet. You can see a demo of this in action in the video we have embedded below.

There is currently no official word on pricing or releases date, but it would appear that this cool piece of kit has already passed through the process of the FCC’s vigorous checks, so we could be seeing more of it sometime soon.
