Motorola Droid X2 Release 26 May: Are You Tempted?

Taking over from its predecessor, the Motorola Droid X, the new and improved X2 is near enough ready to hit retailer shelves at the end of May. Since the beginning of this year, we seem to be hearing news of a new smartphone or tablet device every month, and we understand with such a big choice of handsets to choose from, the decision process can be quite a lengthy one.

According to Brad over at Engadget via Droid Life, the X2 is rumored to be making its entrance on 26th May, with the opportunity to pre-order it from the 19th. The news comes as Droid Life managed to source some Droid X2 marketing content which in itself is pointing to the date in question.

In terms of a specs listing, the new Droid X2 will include a dual-core 1 GHz Tegra 2 processor, which seems to be a big inclusion on many of the new up and coming phones. Along with this, it will include a 4.3-inch qHD screen, 8 megapixel rear camera and the benefit of 1080p, 8GB of internal memory and a 1540 mAH battery. There is still no word as to what Android OS it will be running on with some speculating that it will be Froyo 2.2.

Just at the start of this month, our very own Debbie here at OSM, reported on the Droid X2 being spotted on an internal Best Buy system. Although the price has not been officially confirmed, indications have pointed it to be in the region of $199.

Tell us are you swayed by the Droid X2? Or have you got something else in mind?
