ViewSonic ViewPad 7x: First Ever 7inch Honeycomb Tablet

There is one thing that stands out from all the tech news we bring you here at OSM, and that seems to be the abundance of tablet PC’s that have inundated the current market. In previous posts we have brought you news on an array of these devices from the new Samsung Galaxy Tab, Acer Iconia Tab and the Sony S1/S2.

With so many of these devices on the market it can be quiet hard to choose which one to go for, as most of these share nearly the same hardware specs what OS they are running can make all the difference. One new piece of kit that hopes to draw people towards it with its operating system is the ViewSonic ViewPad 7x, the first 7inch Honeycomb Tablet.

It’s not only Google’s great operating system that makes the ViewPad appealing it also boasts quiet an impressive spec list, this post from Pocket-Lint tells us the tablet will host front and back cameras, a Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, HSPA+ and DLNA support, HDMI output and of course a 7inch display which all weighs in at a mere 380 grams.

There is currently no word on pricing yet, it’s going to be interesting to see what sort of price this device will sell for as this could play a key part in how popular this tablet will be. The device is set to hit stores sometime in June but as this post from Techland.Time states this may just apply to the UK and not the rest of the world.

As this is yet another tablet device to hit the market we have to wonder whether its uniqueness will be enough to attract people towards it, what do you think?

Would you prefer using a 7inch tablet over a bigger one? Would Honeycomb be enough to draw you to this device?
