Twitter Web App Gets A Makeover: Nice Changes?

Twitter has quickly become one of the most powerful sources of information in the world of social media. It’s partly down to its ease of use but also because of the number of high profile people that are joining it; many sports stars and actors feel that they can be closer to their fans by their presence on the social networking giant.

The way that technology has become intertwined with social networking means that there’s no end of apps hitting our smartphones and the Twitter one is no exception. It quite often features in the top 50 apps on the Apple Store and now the Twitter web app has had a makeover with some nice changes.

We first learned of the changes through an entry over on iClarified.com where they show a few screenshots of it and talk a little about the new redesigned web app where they sourced their information from the Twitter blog. The full update is explained there.

They say that they want you to be able to access the app from anywhere and from any device so yesterday they rolled out a new version of twitter.com for mobile devices. This is a great move by Twitter as we are seeing more smartphones and tablet PC devices featuring better browsers and this one has been built from the ground up to support the likes of HTML5. They also say that this has now been rolled out to a small number of users across the markets and that a full roll out will happen in the coming weeks.
