Nintendo 3DS eShop Launches In June: Fans Rejoice?

When it comes to the Nintendo 3DS it has been getting a pretty mixed reception ever since it was released. The first month or so everyone was raving about it saying how good it was and how clever the use of 3D without glasses really is, but now it seems to have gone off the boil.

We even added a report where we were asking if you are bored of your Nintendo 3DS already. Not only that but there are increasing reports of people feeling a bit queasy after playing on it for any period of time because of the 3D effects and when you turn it down you may as well be playing on an older Nintendo handheld. Finally, some good news for the Nintendo 3DS, the eShop launches in June and we were expecting fans to rejoice but is that the case?

The big argument with the glasses-less 3D handheld gaming device is the fact that it launched with some pretty poor games and the eShop wasn’t available from day 1 giving the effect that the device may have been a little rushed out. Still let’s try and grab some positivity for the fans of the device and talk about what we can expect.

We learned that the US will get the update on June 6th and the UK has a target date of June 7th for the 3DS eShop to go live. This is the same day of Nintendo’s E3 press conference as informed by Thomas East of officialnintendomagazine.co.uk. The plan is that you will connect your device to your WiFi network and download an update that will push access to the 3DS eShop on your machine and will pull down a few new features that people have been crying out for.

Some of them include of course the eShop access and the much wanted and talked about Internet browser that it really needs and we are hoping for some kind of surprise for 3DS owners, perhaps something not talked about yet. The eShop will give you access to a number of classic titles from previous Nintendo handhelds which is great for the retro gamer don’t you think?
