Samsung Galaxy S2 (S II) Unlocked for US: Ship Don’t Wait

The Samsung Galaxy S2 continues to be the smartphone that everybody is talking about at the moment and although it’s seen limited release in South Korea and the UK so far, we know that many in the US are waiting eagerly for this handset to hit the shores. There’s still no date available for the US release but there is a way to get your hands on one if you purchase a Samsung Galaxy S2 (S II) unlocked and have it shipped to the US through a mail forwarding service.

This is a hugely impressive handset running on the latest Android OS, 2.3 Gingerbread, with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen and much, much more. We’ve recently given you a review roundup that showed what a hit this smartphone is, a hands-on experience and a comparison with the LG Optimus Black and know from comments received how many people want the Galaxy S2. Shipping it to the US isn’t cheap but if you simply can’t wait the Galaxy S2 is available from Play.com now.

According to Wirelessgoodness, the Galaxy S2 16GB version is available at £499.99 Sim free, that’s around $820 for the US with extra for shipping. However as Play.com don’t ship to the US you’ll also need to use a mail forwarding service, which will set, you back around an extra $50 to $100. We did tell you recently that the Galaxy S2 had now received FCC clearance in the US and looked like it was on its way to AT&T first, but if you can’t hang on then this is an alternative.
