App for Kentucky Derby 2011 by Churchill Downs

At OSM we have reported on quite a few different apps for different things, some of the recent reports include the new Keith Lemon Mouthboard, some funny April Fool’s day pranks that you could do from your iPhone as well as just about everything you need to know about Angry Birds.

Now we have something new to talk to you about, it’s an app for the Kentucky Derby 2011 by Churchill Downs. The event that is held annually in Louisville, Kentucky is a Grade I stakes race for thoroughbred horses at 3-years of age. The two week long Kentucky Derby festival is capped off by the first Saturday of each May with the Kentucky Derby main race.

The actual race itself is 2km and is well known around the USA under many different names, “The Fastest Two Minutes in Sport”, “The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sport” and also “The Run for the Roses” because of the roses that are draped over the winner. Well now there’s an app that can give you plenty of information about it.

Some of the features of the app include the Event Lineup which is a list of the entertainment events and races in a schedule style where you can purchase tickets directly from your mobile. Then you have the horses where you can read some more information about them. You can read about the full feature list over on iTunes where you can also proceed with downloading the app.

Once you have downloaded it, let us know what you think of it in the comments section below.
