Sony NGP Microsoft Xbox 360 Mashup Handheld Console iReadyGo

Whilst Sony are currently struggling with the PSN being down where they have had to completely re-build the infrastructure we doubt this will deter people’s thoughts from the new device they are bringing out in the NGP. Although, we have just seen something that made us have to look twice…

It’s a Sony NGP Microsoft Xbox 360 mashup handheld console; it has the shape and the concept of the Sony NGP but the coloring and the style of the Xbox 360 and the branding “iREADYGO”. This Chinese device looks like a carbon copy of the NGP with Xbox 360 influence on the buttons.

We learned of it through Engadget’s Richard Lai where in his article he speculates about the specifications of the device, we are looking at the same 5-inch touchscreen as the NGP at a resolution of 800×480, a suspected ARM Cortex-A8 processor running at 1GHz and what looks like HDMI-output.

It also has a camera on the rear of the device where you see another difference between this and the NGP, Sony’s model has a touch-sensitive trackpad on the back. Both models seem to have 3G and WiFi capabilities and you can learn more about the device from RG over on the CNGBA website. As things stand there’s no mention of pricing, we are guessing they will wait for the NGP to come out before copying that too.
