Samsung Infuse 4G: AT&T Provide Price & Release Date

Samsung are certainly stepping up their game all round, we have seen an array of different devices such as their new ultra skinny tablet PCs and of course the Samsung Galaxy S II that is due very soon. However today at the AT&T and Samsung event they had a slightly different announcement for us.

Remember back at CES 2011 when OSM’s Debbie Turner told us all about a new cell phone that was coming. It debuted at CES has been made official and now the Samsung Infuse 4G on AT&T has been given a price and release date. Great news for all of you who have been waiting for it!

Whilst the Samsung Galaxy S II continues to dominate tech pages all over the web and in a previous report we suspected that we would at the very least hear further details of the Infuse 4G. We have now learned a lot more about it through Engadget’s Michael Gormand who added an article talking about some of the things you can expect to see as the full specs were released in the press release.

This device is described as the biggest yet the thinnest and it will be coming to AT&T on May 15th for $200 on a two-year contract. Let’s just have a look and see some of the key specs you can expect to see. Firstly the OS that it will run on is Android 2.2 Froyo, it has an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera, a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display and a 1.2GHz processor. If you would like to read the full press release then you can over at the AT&T News room on this link.

What do you think of the device? Is this the smartphone you have been waiting for? Let us know in the comments section below.
