Twitter Star Wars Fans Celebrate September Complete Saga

Social networking site Twitter is growing in popularity and since its initial creation in 2006, has attracted some 200 million active users, to find out more on this head on over to wikipedia. Over the last few months, we have reported on famous footballers taking to the site, celebrities announcing their latest news, pop stars and the latest is that of many of you, have turned to the site to leave your messages of Bin Laden‘s death on Sunday.

Today the news is of Star Wars and the forthcoming Blu-ray releases from Lucasfilm Ltd and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. We can tell you courtesy of Engadget that they will hit retailer shelves on September 16th in America and the 12th for everyone else. The three editions as reported will include either the Complete Saga or the original trilogy on their own, along with 40 hours of additional features.

For those of you who were not aware, today was dubbed the official Star Wars day with Twitter leaving the words “On May 4th, all will be revealed” which led users to another link “maythe4th.starwars.com/countdown.” Consequently since this, we have now been able to give you the dates in September that many of you were waiting for.

Trending topics and hashtags distinctly for Star Wars have been growing on Twitter today, with phrases and characters receiving the most attention. As Metro stated one such person by the name of DeathStarPR tweeted, “If you aren’t celebrating #StarWarsDay by blowing up planets and kidnapping Princesses, you’re doing it wrong.#MayThe4thBeWithYou.”
