As just about everyone expected, the Thunderbolt port that originally came to the refreshed MacBook pros in February, has now made its way to the latest iMac line. Sandy Bridge quad-core processors have also arrived as anticipated and there’s also a Facetime HD camera on the latest models. We know how many of you were waiting for the latest all-in-one desktops and prices start from $1,199 though we’ll bring you full pricing details soon.

The latest iMac comes in two versions each of two sizes, 21.5-inch and 27-inch and the smaller version has a single Thunderbolt port while the 27-inch models have two of these new ports. The 21.5-inch screen has a 1920 x 1080 HD resolution while the 27-inch has a resolution beyond HD of 2560 x 1440. There is edge-to-edge glass, a tapered pedestal, integrated speakers and a seamless enclosure. The quad-core Intel Core i5 Sandy Bridge processors come as standard with the 21.5-inch having a 2.5GHz or 2.7GHz, configurable to a 2.8GHz Core i7, and the 27-inch featuring a 2.7GHZ or 3.1GHz Core i5 or you can configure up to a Core i7 processor.

The new iMac also features 4GB of memory, configurable to 16GB, and the base 21.5-inch model comes with a 500GB hard drive or there’s also a 1TB model, which can also be configured up. The 27-inch models come wth 1TB hard drive as standard, configurable to 2TB hard drive or 256GB solid-state second drive. The 21-inch model comes with either an AMD Radeon HD 6750M or 6770M graphics card. The 27-inch comes with the 6770M graphics card or 6970M. The iMac runs on OS X Snow Leopard and there doesn’t appear to be any major cosmetic change to the previous models.
