Logitech TV Cam: Offers Skype Video Conferencing In 720p

Logitech have been in the game for a long time now, they regularly release different types of mouse such as the M515 that has 2 years of battery life and a load of other devices too. One of the others that we have talked about in recent times is the Z906 surround sound speakers that unfortunately still doesn’t have an HDMI connection.

Now we have another gadget to talk to you about, it’s the Logitech TV Cam that offers Skype video conferencing in 720p HD. We first learned of the new gizmo through Slashgear’s Chris Davies where he talks a bit about the device in his article. He mentions that it is basically a webcam that you can attach to your HDTV to turn it into a conferencing system.

The new camera currently is only supported with some Panasonic 2011 TV sets however they are undoubtedly working with other brands to broaden their horizons. The Logitech TV Cam for Skype will set you back $149.99 and as Engadget’s Tim Stevens says, it will be available at some point this month.

This quirky camera has a 78-degree wide-angle lens using Carl Zeiss optics and auto-focus which enables it to capture and focus on objects that are as near to it as 7cm. you can head over to the official Logitech webpage for further information and if you want to know if your TV is compatible then check the image below.
