Samsung Droid Charge Release Delayed? Verizon LTE Outage Concerns

We’ve been keeping readers informed about the Samsung Droid Charge on Verizon, which is due for release today and was originally dubbed the Stealth. However for those of you who intended to head out to pick one up today, you may want to check first that you’re not making an unnecessary journey. We have heard that the Samsung Droid Charge release may be delayed, possibly because of the ongoing Verizon 4G LTE outage.

As a recap the Droid Charge looks like a highly impressive handset, runs on Android 2.2 and has 4G capabilities. Specs include a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, 1GHz Hummingbird processor, 8GB of internal memory, 8-megapixel rear camera with 1.3-megapixel front facer, and a QWERTY keyboard. However, Kellex over on Droid-Life reported late yesterday that separate sources have stated the release of the Droid Charge is to be delayed and that managers have told employees that the Droid Charge will have a rescheduled release.

It’s anybody’s guess right now whether in fact the release is delayed or not as LTE is starting to be re-established according to reports so Droid-Life wonders if it might arrive after all. However a later update showed the Droid Charge commercial which was available to view on video has now been marked private so that wouldn’t appear to be a good sign.

Also Richard Lai over on Engadget reported a short time ago that the release is definitely postponed according to an internal email that quotes “unexpected delays.” Were you waiting for the Samsung Droid Charge on Verizon? I’m really enjoying the design and layout of your website. It’s a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more enjoyable for me to come here and visit more often. Did you hire out a developer to create your theme? Fantastic work!

its definitely not listed online. i was going to go into the store and test drive the charge and inc2, but I may delay that trip. although 4G sounds like it would be a great thing when it works, i also think the incredible may have less LTE issues and longer battery life
