Rugged Casio G’zOne On Verizon: Price & Release Date

At OSM we take into account those people that may not really want a high spec expensive device like a tablet PC or cell phone so we like to report on gizmos and gadgets for those of you that need something that can take a beating.

Some of the previous ‘ard as nails things we have talked about include what looks like a rugged tablet PC, a tough to tackle laptop from Gammatech and of course a portable hard drive that survived being shot with a shotgun from iOSafe. Today we have learned more about the rugged Casio G’zOne. It’s on Verizon and the price and release date is now available.

We learned of this through Engadget’s Dana Wollman where there’s an article talking about some of the specs that we have previously reported on but let’s just have a quick recap. You can expect to have some basic apps such as a compass, thermometer and a pedometer along with some pretty impressive specs. It has a 5 megapixel camera, a 3.6-inch display at a resolution of 480×800 along with all the usual connections and 3G connectivity.

If you couple those cool specs with the fact that it’s one of the toughest specimens around then you have yourself a decent but hard phone. It’s priced at $200 on a contract and you can pick yours up on Verizon from April 28th. Head over to the Casio homepage where you can learn even more about the device.
