ChoozOn Social Networking Site: Groupon Deal Opposition

When it comes to finding the best shopping deals around, Groupon and even Facebook seem to edge their way to the top, but from the summer a new social networking site is hoping to change this.

ChoozOn adapted by three former Yahoo executives in the online marketing field, are in the latter stages of development and will be bringing brand content to the site with the aim of connecting consumers and products together.

As well as the site marketing various discounted branded items, you the user, as gigaom.com stated, will be able to manage daily deals and discounts which will distinctly pick out the items that apply to your personal preferences as well as making sure you are tuned in with discounts from companies that you are already a member of. Future iPhone and Android mobile apps will also become available giving deals that are near to your present location.

Loyalty programmes are also a benefit to customers on ChoozOn. Searching for deals will be made easy by way of filtration in verticals and by category. In response to the new site, CEO and co-founder Nick Weir said, “We’re creating a whole new network where people can manage their deals, their affiliations with brands they like and loyalty programs they belong to and the subset of friends who are their shopping pals. We felt there is a tremendous opportunity in the online marketplace for consumers and brands alike to create some type of way for everyone to communicate in a beneficial way.” To find out more and to watch a brief overview head on over to gigaom.com.

Is it about time we had a social networking site primarily set up for consumers and brands, with the emphasis of people having more control over their loyalty and reward memberships?
