White iPhone 4 On Route To Apple Stores: Announcement 27th April

The elusive white iPhone 4 which is now some 10 months late in releasing is set to make a big entrance this coming week. The handset which before its official launch has received criticism over its subsequent delays, reasons behind why its taken so long and so on is rumored to be arriving on April 27th within UK retailers. Just the other day we brought you news that Three had put up and then taken down a “buy now page” which we had question to believe that it may have leaked out by accident.

Today from AppleInsider the rumors may becoming more of a realisation with news that some US stores are in fact receiving advertising and marketing material showcasing the white version which is expected to run on the big red Verizon and rival AT&T networks “within the next week.” As well as this it has been noted that some stores have received shipment information which has given them advice to withhold units until more instruction has been given. Within the next few days before April 27th which ties in nicely with the date in our first paragraph, an official announcement will be made.

With news dating back to November 2010 of the handset finally winging its way to customers during the spring of this year, this may be the first real evidence of this actually happening now. As AppleInsider reported, the new white is reported to have undergone changes to incorporate the white color which was originally causing problems with unit productions.

Just yesterday we gave you news that the iPhone 5 with a possible release date of September will undergo complete changes including a bigger home button with “gesture area,” Qualcomm Gobi chipset enabling GSM and CDMA versions, in appearance a different thinner teardrop shape, 3.5-inch display to a bigger 3.7-inch and so on.

Tell us have you held out for the white iPhone 4, or did you give up waiting? Or let us know what you would like to see on the next gen handset?
