Samsung HMX-W200: Price & Release Dates For Rugged HD Camera

We at OSM love the rugged devices that pop up from time to time, a few that we have heard about recently include the tablet PC that looks to be on its way from Motorola, the new rugged phone from Casio and of course a very rugged laptop from GammaTech in the Durabook S15C.

Now we have another device to tell you about, it has been made by Samsung and carries the model ID of HMX-W200, we have the price and release dates for this rugged HD camera. We learned of the device through Slashgear’s Chris Davies about the point and shoot device.

Davies paints a picture of the device specifications by informing us of its 5 megapixel CMOS sensor and a 2.3” LCD screen on the rear. It has the video resolution of 1920×1080. Of course the main features of this guy is its ability to take a bit of punishment from its uncaring user, this device would be perfect for those all important moments on the lake when you caught the fish that was “THIS BIG” without the worry of damaging your camera.

The device is shock proof, water resistant in depths of up to 3m or 10ft and carries a price of $159 with a release date of May. Use this link to be directed to the full press release from Samsung where you can learn a whole load more about it.
