HTC Sensation 3D Graphics Tested: Impressive Results

There is no doubt a percentage of you who have no problems in purchasing a new mobile handset but with so many to choose from, the decision can be quite a difficult one. As well as the ever popular iPhone/iPhone 5, there are plenty of others such as HTC, LG, Samsung, Motorola and so on to choose from, but its the new HTC addition, that of the Sensation that is proving a talking point amongst many.

With a packed listing of specs and a release in the next few months, the Android 2.3 handset has just had its 3D graphics benchmarked in a series of tests, and fonehome.co.uk were kind enough to share the results.

The tests were carried out by GLBenchmark which gave the handset’s GPU a good “going over,” and in particular the Sensation‘s Adreno 220 chip. Up against stiff contenders with dual-core processors such as the LG Optimus 2X and Atrix 4G, the HTC offering certainly pulled out all the stops as it were. The Optimus came out on top just a tad above the Sensation, but this as the specialists GLBenchmark said, can be put down to both devices’ screens. The HTC includes a 4.3-inch qHD Super LCD display which manages to push out as reported 35% more resolution than a display such as the LG Optimus 2X, hence the Sensation manages to transfer even more pixels working the GPU a lot harder.

On comparison to the Atrix 4G, another handset that we have spoken about on a number of occasions, which itself has the same GPU and CPU as the Optimus 2X but similarities to the Sensation’s display, the HTC scores a little above the LG due to the Qualcomm 200MHz processor.
