Android & iOS Set To Get HBO Go App

The big American TV network HBO has announced some good news for its viewers as it is set to launch its mobile app on iOS and Android.

The premium cable company owned by Time Warner offers a variety of popular shows such as The Wire and Entourage, and with the new “Go” app, fans will be able to watch and keep up with episodes whilst they are out and about. HBO also offers rental of the latest movie releases via streaming. Geeky Gadgets has reported that the app will be released in the US only for now, so anyone else wishing to enjoy the app will have to wait.

The app will be made available in the early part of May, with the promise of “instant and unlimited access” to “every episode of every season” of your favorite shows, according to Engadget. The app will be coming to all iOS and Android smartphones and tablets only, so unfortunately the Windows Phone 7 and Blackberry owners will miss out.

The app and streaming of content will be made free to subscribers who will have their shows delivered via 3G and Wi-Fi. HBO has been releasing teaser trailers through their YouTube channel; the trailer ends on 2nd May, but this is not a definite launch date for the app. Are you a HBO subscriber who will be enjoying the benefits of the app?
