HTC Windows Phone 7: Impressive 16 Megapixel Camera

HTC’s range of smartphone’s has never been stronger, but this hasn’t stopped them releasing their latest incarnation the Windows Phone 7. As yet this device is nameless and spec’s are very limited in the information stakes, although as Slash Gear mention it looks like a Desire S but with Windows rather than Android.

It may have Desire S qualities, but this is by no means a bad thing. The styling is sleek, smart and uncluttered, although external prowess doesn’t necessarily make a top selling handset. This HTC however has a trick up its sleeve.

We all know how useful camera phones are with their compact functionality and the fact that our phones spend the majority of their lives slipped into our pockets or bags.

Up until now although the Altek Leo managed 14-megapixels, 8-megapixels has provided what we assumed was the optimum photo capturing ability. That was until now and the HTC Windows device with its massive 16-megapixel image taker.

As Gary over at PR News states, HTC dosen’t mention in their video trailer shown below, about the dual LED flash. He also refers to the fact that megapixels do not automatically mean better picture quality. Even so there is no doubting that as smartphones get more advanced in technology the need for other devices becomes less and less.

Before long all you will need to carry with you is your phone, which will not only replace your camera, mp3 and portable film player but also act as your wallet. Let us know what you think about a 16-megapixel smartphone, will it ever replace your need for a real camera?
