Nintendo 3DS Exceptional Sales: Are You Surprised?

When it comes to the Nintendo 3DS we have spoken to you a couple of times about it. Some of the things we have informed you of included the day one sales where the expectations were surpassed, ASDA being the cheapest UK location to get one and of course the leaked homebrew image that means the console has been hacked!

Now we have some further news for you regarding the sales of the device. As reported by Vlad Savov over at Engadget the Nintendo 3DS has had some exceptional sales and we are wondering if you are surprised?

Savov goes on in his article to tell us that the 400,000 3DS units were shifted in March according to Nintendo Chief of America Reggie Fils-Aime. This is pretty amazing when you consider that the console didn’t launch until March 27th meaning that there were 400,000 gone in four days! Savov also makes it clear that he isn’t a fan of the turquoise but remember you can also pick this bad boy up in black, perhaps that’s more to his taste.

So the 3DS hit a whopping 400,000 in four days which isn’t too far short of what the DS did for the entire month with 460,000 sales! Of course those sales will more than likely not keep going at that rate, remember it was launch week. With the likes of Zelda being launched on the console along with Netflix in the summer as informed by Gamehunters.

Are you surprised by the sales that were seen by Nintendo at the end of March? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
