Official BlackBerry Twitter v1.1 App Update Live

With all the news of leaked BlackBerry models and the PlayBook’s imminent release, one thing that might have slipped under your radar is the BlackBerry World App Store. This is constantly being updated with various apps so that you can get the most out of your BlackBerry device.

Now we are extremely pleased to inform you that it’s now official, BlackBerry updated the Twitter v1.1 app is now live. Twitter has quickly become one of the world’s largest social networks so it makes sense that companies like RIM with their BlackBerry models should take advantage of it and use it as a potential selling point with all of the features, new and old.

We learned of this through Slashgear’s Samia Perkins who mentions that the app has been in beta testing for the last six weeks although now it has gone live. The new release has a few new features including the ability to add locations to your Tweets, Push@mentions, Retweet Updates, #Topic Autocomplete and also an additional five languages are now supported.

You can learn more about each of these features from the official BlackBerry blog and if you haven’t already downloaded the update then don’t worry, here’s how to get it. First of all open up Twitter on your BlackBerry, then press the Menu key and scroll to Check for Upgrade Now, alternatively if you don’t already have the Twitter app installed then click here to grab it.
