New iPhone 5: Apple To Release A Gaming Device?

The iPhone 5 has been on the forefront of many people’s minds for quite some time now, which is to be expected as many think this will be the next big thing to come from Apple. We all have our own expectations of what it should do and what it might look like but to be quite honest nobody really knows.

You only have to look at the way Apple handled proceedings with the iPad 2 and the new Thunderbolt peripheral. There was certainly an expectation that the iPad 2 was coming but nobody knew for sure that the entire event would be devoted to its revelation. Now we are speculating about some of the potential details about the new iPhone 5. Will Apple release a gaming device?

We recently read a report over on Engadget.com where their author Donald Melanson has added an article talking about how Apple are hiring some of the top UK gaming PR executives from Activision and Nintendo. If these claims are true as per MVCUK and Apple Insider then there’s a chance we could have a gaming orientated device that we’ve never seen from Apple.

Of course it could be more about the next event that Apple has dubbed a software only show, where we will get a look at the new OS X and iOS. Perhaps the next platforms will support an even better standard of gaming, I guess we will just have to wait and see!

What are your expectations of the Apple iPhone 5? Do you think it will be a more gaming orientated device? Let us know you thoughts in the comments section below.
