iPhone 5 Processing September 2011: Entry Level Rumored 2012

Never one to be far from the limelight, Apple has ignited more rumors regarding its next generation iPhone. We have seen various reports on the likeness of a fifth-gen iPhone but never really anything to get our teeth into.

That was until Apple Insider found out about plans to commence production sometime in September. The report issued by Avian Sercurities suggested that a late 2011, possible early 2012 release was the most realistic.

This rumor further cements other speculations recently discussed, as late September happens to be the end of the fiscal year for Apple.

Adding to the Apple rumor-mill are the claims that the Cali company will be introducing a lower spec’d and priced iPhone. As BGR state, a report labels an early 2012 introduction date for the baby device.

This low-cost handset will contain limited features and also become available under a contract-free basis. Apple wants to infiltrate China’s prepaid sector, and with this new device, Apple is said to be planning “clever things.”

If all these rumors come to fruition then we can expect an interesting end of 2011 into early 2012 from the Steve Jobs clan. The unveiling of an iPhone 5 could give Apple the opportunity to silence some of the iPhone 4’s bad press that it picked up between its release and the Verizon 4 introduction, whilst an entry-level handset could open a whole new avenue for the company.

Tell us what you would like to see coming from the Apple group by the end of the year?
