EraThink EraPalm: It Looks Like a Games Console

With the rise in popularity of gaming and more so this year handheld gaming with the release of the Nintendo 3DS and later this year the NGP (PSP2), it would seem only natural for there to be more gaming mobile devices such as the first certified PlayStation phone from Sony Ericsson.

Now we have caught wind of another device from EraThink called the EraPalm and it looks a lot like a games console. It has a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen running at 800×480 that hides a full QWERTY keyboard. Not only that but it also has a D-Pad as most handhelds do and four buttons labeled A, B, C, D as well as what looks like two shoulder buttons.

As Engadget’s Dana Wollman informs us in an article, this device was displayed at the China Consumer Electronics Fair. This handheld runs on Windows 7 and has 3G connectivity, HDMI, USB and VGA posts. There’s some mystery around the processor that features on the device, we know that it’s an Atom Z processor however we aren’t sure just what model it is.

When you look at what we know about it so far, it seems to be pretty much a cross between the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play and the Sidekick. Head over to this translated page where you can learn more about it and see a couple more screenshots of it.
