T-Mobile G2x Release Date Rumor: Dual Core Coming April 15

There’s good news today for those waiting for the release of the LG G2x (known as the LG Optimus 2X in other regions). A leak appears to show a release date for the T-Mobile G2x and this dual-core handset, the first for T-Mobile, looks as though it’s coming on April 15.

We reckon this handset has got a lot going for it and recently posted an article about the G2x vs. the Motorola Droid Bionic, another 4G dual-core processor smartphone with high specs. As a quick recap we can tell you the G2x has a 1GHz processor, 4-inch WVGA capacitive display, 8GB internal storage or up to 32 with microSD slot, 8-megapixel rear camera with 1080p HD video capture and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The operating system on release is thought to be Android 2.2, although of course it would be likely to be updated to Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

In a hands-on look at the T-Mobile G2x at CTIA 2011 the device was described as “insanely quick” so as you can see it’s looking pretty impressive. The release date was leaked to Android Central and Phil Nickinson notes the date is a little sooner than expected so that’s certain to please a lot of people.
