Nokia E7 Release and Price for US: Available Now

We have news today of a new smartphone that has been made available in the US from Finnish phone manufacturer Nokia. The handset was previously available in other areas back in February but has now been released in the US and it’s called the Nokia E7.

It’s now available from both Amazon.com and Nokia USA and the price is $649 or $679 unlocked respectively, according to Andrew Munchbach of BGR, sourced from Phone Scoop. We have just checked the Amazon website though and the price is now listed at $599. This is a Symbian OS handset and some specs include a 4-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS and16GB inbuilt storage. Other features are an 8-megapixel camera with 720p HD video capture and dual-LED flash, 1200 mAh battery, HDMI connector and FM radio.

The Nokia E7 has a full QWERTY keyboard, and a stylish aluminum casing in silver/white, which we think looks pretty smart and also has an accelerometer, compass and proximity sensor as well as a screen resolution of 640 x 360. Operating frequencies are GSM and WCDMA with automatic switching.

Unwired View also reports on the Nokia E7 and notes that it’s $230 more expensive than the Nokia E8 in the US. Although the E7 features the sliding keyboard and larger screen the E8 in fact has a better camera so you may want to think about this before you make your purchase. What are your thoughts on the Nokia E7? What might make you choose this phone over any other? Let us know with your comments.
