New iOS 4.3.1 Jailbreak: redsn0w 0.9.6rc9 Live – Not For iPad 2

Jailbreaking of the iOS Apple devices has become something more common these days; we have seen a couple of jailbreaks appearing for each iOS such as greenp0ison which we reported on previously.

Now we have heard through Engadget that the new iOS 4.3.1 Jailbreak called redsn0w is live, it doesn’t seem to be for the iPad 2. Richard Lai has compiled a report saying that they have been waiting for a nice easy jailbreak solution for iOS 4.3.1 and it has been published by the Dev-Team Blog.

The untethered exploitation comes through Stefan Esser on Twitter, importantly for all you iPad 2 users this will not work. It does however work for the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 GSM, iPod Touch 3G, iPod Touch 4G and the first Apple iPad. There’s also a note on Apple TV 2G saying that it only has the Pwnage Tool For Now.

It would seem that the iPad 2 hasn’t had a the required exploits that need to take place before the full jailbreak can be loaded onto its iOS however we don’t expect it to be too long until it has a similar exploit.

Use this link for any explanations you need to get your device working with the redsn0w. We would also like to let us know of any problems you have experienced in the comments section below.

I wonder if they are ever going to release a jailbreak for it for the users still running iOS 4.3 on their iPad 2's?? or if you could downgrade from 4.3.1 to 4.3 for jailbreaking purposes…
