There was some excitement in the tech world today as we heard of a special U.K. HTC Event to take place in London on April 12. Of course speculation immediately began about what may be announced and many seem to think it will be about the impressive upcoming handset, the HTC Pyramid, or a European version of the HTC EVO 3D, which in the U.S. will be released on Sprint.
We heard about this event from Todd Haselton over on BGR, and they will also be covering the event live on the day. The local time of the event in London, UK, is 1:30 pm and you can work out the time for where you are by seeing how far behind or ahead you are where you live, at timeanddate.com here. The invitations from HTC read, “Join us to see what’s next,” and seeing as a lot of news from HTC was already announced at MWC 2011 in February, this has really got tongues wagging.
Rik Henderson over on Pocket-Lint has added his opinion to the mix about what will be announced and as well as the HTC Pyramid and the HTC EVO 3D, speculates it could be a release of the HTC Flyer in the U.K. or even all three. Henderson points out the invitation picture is of morphing metal and wonders if this may be a clue because of the reverse of the HTC Pyramid which has a band silver plating.
If we had to choose any of these three products to be announced we’d love it to be the HTC Pyramid, which has some pretty hot specs. They include a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and an 8-megapixel camera all running on Android 2.3, Gingerbread but for now we’ll have to wait and see. You can be sure we’ll be ready on April 12 to find out more. What would you like to see announced at the HTC event? Let us know with your comments.
