BlackBerry Monaco/Monza Touch : Hands On in Pictures

A while ago we brought you news of a new Storm 3 phone from BlackBerry which we then heard would be known under different names for different carriers, the Monaco for Verizon (CDMA) or the Monza (GSM). Today we’ve heard news of a hands-on look at this handset with pictures, which it’s now thought will be known as the BlackBerry Touch (Monaco or Monza).

Rumored specs include a 1.2GHz processor, 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen with 800 x 480 resolution, 5-megapixel camera and 720p video capture, all running on BlackBerry OS 6.1. The hands-on pictures come from Jonathan S. Geller over on BGR who also informs us of a BlackBerry ID login system instead of using a PIN. We’ve printed a couple of images in this article but check out the BGR link above for more photos.

Geller also asserts that at BlackBerry World in May we’ll see official news of many of the BlackBerry handsets we’ve seen leaked in recent months, the BlackBerry Touch (Monaco/Monza), the BlackBerry Bold Touch, BlackBerry Curve Touch and BlackBerry Torch 2. If you want to see a fuller list of specs about the BlackBerry Touch (Monaco/Monza) head to BlackBerry Rocks here where you’ll see more details.

What are your thoughts on these BlackBerry handsets to be officially shown at BlackBerry World? Could you be tempted to one or maybe the Android or iOS platforms are too hard to resist? Let us know with your comments.
