WWDC 2011: Tickets Sold Out, iPhone 5 Isn’t Coming Anyway

For all of you that were hoping you could pull together the fifteen hundred bucks to get to San Francisco we have some news for you. The WWDC 2011 tickets have sold out, but is it so bad as the iPhone 5 may not be coming anyway?

Undoubtedly people will have bought tickets in the hope that history will repeat itself and Steve Jobs will stroll onto the stage as he did last year with the iPhone 4 but with an iPhone 5 instead. Something that Apple were trying to make clear is that the event will be a software only one by posting on the developers page the below image that we previously reported on.

Over at Engadget, their author Josh Topolsky has added an interesting article that talks about how various well known writers such as John Paczkowski of All Things Digital and Jim Dalrymple from The Loop are compiling similar reports of an iPhone 5 no show. Of course with Apple you never really know what they are up to so we all remain hoping for it to come but the suspicion is that it will be all about the future of Mac OS X and the iOS.

As things stand everyone everywhere reporting that the iPhone 5 may make an appearance is acting purely on speculation and history. John Gruber of Daring Fireball says in his article that a new iPhone would make a good companion for the iPad that was recently launched but is thinking that we may have to wait until later in the year for it.

What do you think? Will we see the iPhone 5 or is this all speculation and the event will be about the software? Let us know your theories in the comments section below.
