LG Optimus Big: Like the Optimus Black but Bigger

LG has been coming out with some great smartphones lately and not long ago we rounded up some of the best. You may remember the LG Optimus Black, which was announced back at CES 2011, and now we have news of a phone dubbed the LG Optimus Big, like the Optimus Black but bigger!

A notable feature of the Optimus Black (still not released) is its NOVA display technology giving extremely bright images and it’s that feature that has been extended to the Optimus Big. The Optimus Big has a large display (go figure) of 4.3-inches and a 1GHz single-core processor with T-TMB TVTuner for Korea where it is rumored it will appear from next month on the LG U+ carrier, according to Phone Arena, sourced from XportsNews (translation).

There are no further spec details available yet but what we really want to know is whether this will make it to the U.S. and elsewhere. When Phone Arena tested the NOVA display against the Retina Display of the iPhone and also the Super AMOLED display and ClearBlack AMOLED display, the NOVA came out with flying colors showing an amazing 700 nits of brightness. We’d really like to see this improved brightness on a larger screen.

However Stefan on IntoMobile has a very different view on this and states that if you want a device as big as this you need to “get your head examined.” What are your thoughts on this? Would you like to see the NOVA display technology on a larger screen, or are you not a fan of larger-screened smartphones? Let us know with your comments.
