Firefox 4 Hits Android Giving 3 Times Faster Browsing

Mozilla creators of Firefox the open source web browser, has just announced the addition of Firefox 4 for Android. This will allow smartphone and tablet users all the benefits that were recently launched for desktops.

According to a report by Pocket-lint, Mozilla is claiming an increase of speed, three times faster than any other Android based browser.

With Firefox 4 there is a number of extras along with the lightening response times, one being the syncing capabilities with your desktop. This allows you to be pulled away from your home PC but still be able to carry on where you left off via your smartphone. Passwords, bookmarks, preferences and history are all available at your fingertips.

The “Awesome Screen” provides you with the full mobile surfing experience, quick tab browsing with all tabs popping up on the left hand side. Single touch bookmarking with pinch gesture or double tap zoom and easy share for Facebook and Twitter fans.

To make your Firefox 4 your own there is custom persona’s and other additions for that personal feel, matching that of the desktop version.

On Mozilla’s official release information it introduces Firefox 4 by stating, “Firefox for mobile allows users to take the Firefox experience they love everywhere and minimizes typing with features like tabbed browsing, bookmarks, add-ons and Firefox Sync,” it then adds, “With a sleek new look that hides browser controls when not in use, Firefox allows users to focus on the websites they visit.”
