Twitter Co-Founder Jack Dorsey Makes Comeback

Twitter co-founder and ex CEO Jack Dorsey announced earlier today that he is returning to the company he helped create, taking up the role of executive chairman.

Dorsey tweeted the news on Monday morning and also that he would remain CEO of his new startup, a mobile payment service called square. When the co-founder starts his new post at Twitter he will be overseeing products on a day to day basis according to Mashable.



Twitter recently celebrated its 5th birthday
, where Dorsey famously sent the site’s first ever tweet which was “inviting coworkers.” Dorsey acted as the microblog’s first ever CEO, until Evan Williams took the job. Williams then announced he would stand down and current chief executive Dick Costolo would take over. Williams stayed with Twitter and spearheaded the site’s focus on product strategy.

When these changes in leadership happened Dorsey stepped down and took up the less intensive role as chairman of board. Two years later he decided to focus on a new project which was square and now he is coming back to assist the revolutionary company he helped invent.
