Sprint Kyocera Echo Release: Pre-Order Recommended for April 17

Here at OSM we’ve reported on the Kyocera Echo smartphone, coming to Sprint on a few occasions. Back in February we brought news about this dual-screen Android smartphone and then also brought you some first thoughts on the handset where we felt it could be a possible game changer. Now we have news that if you want one of these impressive handsets you’d best place your reservation now.

The unique offering of a second screen giving the device a 4.7-inch display will be a real selling point for the Kyocera Echo. The handset will also have a 1GHz Snapdragon Processor, a 5-megapixel camera and 720p video capture, and will be running on Android 2.2.

The release date will be on April 17 and Phil Nickinson over on Android Central, sourced from Sprint, reports that Sprint is recommending that if you want this smartphone it would be a good idea to reserve one. The price will be $199 on the usual two-year contract and the online sign-up page for pre-orders is here.
