Xperia X10: Gingerbread 2.3 Update Released In Summertime

Sony has been making some headway in terms of games consoles and also in the world of mobile telecommunications. We have now heard that the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 gingerbread 2.3 update will be released in the summertime, you must be happy with that!

We learned of this news through an article published on Engadget by one of their authors named Vlad Savov. He mentions that Sony previously said that the device wouldn’t receive any Android updates for the Xperia X10 devices past Éclair but now they are saying otherwise.

There’s an article that has been published on the official Sony Ericsson blog with confirmation that it’s been announce. One section of the blog post that caught the eye of OSM was the part that asks a question of ‘What are you doing this upgrade?’ and as we thought, they have been listening to their customers who were perhaps slightly perplexed that it wouldn’t be going past Éclair.

Finally we can also let you know that the X8, X10 Mini Pro and the X10 Mini will all remain on the current OS of Android 2.1 Éclair. The update is set to roll out at the end of Q2, start of Q3 so keep an eye out for it around that time.
